SPRINGFIELD – Small business owner and sixth-generation Kendall County resident Keith Wheeler was sworn in as the new State Representative for Illinois’ 50th District on Wednesday, replacing retiring Rep. Kay Hatcher. All 118 members of the House of Representatives took the oath of office for the inaugural of the 99th General Assembly at the University of Illinois-Springfield’s Sangamon Auditorium in a noon-time ceremony.

A small business owner for 24 years and former Chairman of the Illinois Leadership Council of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Rep. Wheeler brings a lifetime of hands-on experience and real world knowledge of the most pressing challenges facing entrepreneurs and job creators in Illinois. He has also served locally as a former Board Chairman for the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce.
