Rep. Wheeler: Restoring Illinois’ competitiveness key to overcoming budget challenges

SPRINGFIELD – State Rep. Keith Wheeler (R-Oswego) released the following statement in reaction to Governor Rauner’s budget address delivered to a joint session of the General Assembly today.

“As a small business owner, I understand the importance of matching revenue with expenditures and paying bills on time. Today, for the first time in over a decade, we got an honest assessment of the state’s budget challenges and a blueprint moving forward to overcome them. An important element in achieving long-term success is enacting reforms that make us more competitive in attracting new innovators and entrepreneurs to Illinois and keeping the good jobs we already have thanks to the hard work of our small business men and women here in the Fox Valley region and throughout the state.”

Rep. Wheeler serves the 50th District, which includes portions of Aurora, Batavia, Geneva, Campton Hills, Elburn, Montgomery, Oswego, Plano, St. Charles, Sugar Grove and Yorkville.
